The 3rd General Assembly of the “Route d’Architecture et de Patrimoine Maçonniques” association took place on 7 June 2026.
During the meeting, the commitment to continue working towards certification as a Council of Europe Cultural Route was reaffirmed and approved by all members present.
The board members, meeting in Paris, were able to discuss several areas of progress regarding our projects in 2026.
Transnational initiatives concerning the involvement of member countries in the forthcoming European Heritage Days have been finalised and will be ready for 19 and 20 September.
Similarly, a symposium is scheduled for November 2026 in Tenerife, at the Temple of Santa Cruz, on the theme of ‘Freemasonry and Exile’.
Furthermore, the publication of a major book on the history of Freemasonry in the 12 current member countries of the Network is planned for December 2026.
Significant changes regarding the governance of the AAPM have also been approved and adopted. Women are now participating, and will participate even more, within the association, with their appointment to the Scientific and Steering Committee, which is thus being strengthened by the inclusion of recognised female scientists and academics.
The association’s communications role has now been unanimously assigned to Ricardo BAHIA of the National Grand Lodge of Portugal, whose expertise is widely recognised within the Board of Directors.
Our commitment to opening up to other countries and Obediences continues resolutely with the admission of the General Grand Lodge of Spain, which was also approved unanimously.
Within the democratic framework of the Council of Europe, the values of Freemasonry – whatever their specific characteristics may be across the 12 member countries of our Network – have once again been firmly and calmly reaffirmed.
