A major event in Vienna in March 2025

Initially scheduled for October 2025, the symposium initiated by the Association Architecture et Patrimoine Maçonniques (AAPM) will finally be held on Saturday March 15, 2025, between 2:00 and 6:00 pm, in Vienna (Austria), in the prestigious setting of the Hotel Europahaus, located at 429 Linzer Straße.

A topical and historical theme

The theme of the symposium is “Freemasonry and authoritarian regimes: resistance and legacy”. A subject that resonates with the history of the Enlightenment, the struggle for freedom, and the challenges faced by initiatory societies in the face of oppression.

Renowned speakers

Four renowned speakers will enrich the reflections of this European meeting:

  • Dr. Wolfgang Rohrbach, specialist in societal dynamics and relations between Masonic institutions and political power, President of Europa Nostra Austria;
  • Dr. Michael Weninger, renowned author on the interaction between spirituality and politics in Europe;
  • Jacques Walch, Grand Archivist of the Supreme Council of France (SCDF), who will contribute his expertise on Masonic archives in sensitive contexts;
  • Jean Dumonteil, First Grand Warden of the Grande Loge de l’Alliance Maçonnique Française (L’Alliance), who will talk about Masonic resistance in France and its contemporary legacy.
