The conference titled “Freemasonry and Authoritarian Regimes: Resistance and Legacy” was held in Vienna on March 15th, under the auspices of the Grand Lodge of France and the Grand Lodge of Austria, which had just received its charter of constitution that very morning.

The conference, initiated by the Association of Masonic Architecture and Heritage (AAPM), brought together over a hundred people on a theme resonating with the past, the history of the Enlightenment, struggles for freedom, and the challenges faced by initiatory societies in the face of oppression. A topic that has gained new relevance in today’s troubled world.
